Fun at the Beach--Gulf Shores Alabama

One of the most fun days we had in Alabama was on the beach! We all just LOVED it! Grandma was chilly and had to go back to the car early, but the rest of us had a blast and could not get enough of the fun! We wished we could have spend ALL day there--but Anika needed a nap!
*
We tried to have a picnic lunch on the beach, but with the little breeze each bit had sand in it--so we did not eat much!*
Anika really like picking up and touching the sand!
*
*
Marching--Marching Anika!

*
Here she is throwing a handful of sand!

*
I thought this picture was cool with the sand crane in the background!

*
Makadie wanted to jump in and play in the water! It was a bit too choppy for that!

*
So we let her sit on the bank and the water was able to splash up onto her feet! She LOVED this though!

*
Makadie got a little surprised by the waves and got a bit wet! I was also sitting there with her with Anika on my lap--Anika did NOT appreciate the surprise like Makadie did. She was quite upset by the water splashing on her.*
Group shot!! Makadie (a little wet from the large splashing waves), Roni, Anika, & Grandma Dottie!

*
She really wanted to get the sand OFF of her feet, she spent quite some time trying to do so. Luckily she finally gave up and continued playing!

*
The girls have fun playing together and digging and loading up their buckets!

Makadie and I made a sand fort--not quite a sand castle--but Makadie did not care! Here she is sitting in the middle of the "Castle".

*
*
*
Before we left she wanted to jump on the mounds of sand! So here are a few shots of the action!
*
Getting ready to jump!

In the air getting ready to land!

Next mound, getting ready for take off!

On top before the smashing happens!

*
Smash right to the ground!

She loved the water and the sand and the birds!

We had a wonderful day and all look forward to our next family outing to a beach and hope that Daddy-Coleman will be able to join us! Thanks Grandma Dottie for taking us to the beach and making the day so fun! We came home with a bag of sand and shells that we collected on the beach! The sky was overcast all day, but it was nice weather!

Visiting Uncle Arlee's & Aunt Gussie's

One day while in Alabama we went to my Great-Great and the girls' Great-Great-Great Uncle Arlee's house. Uncle Arlee is my Grandma Dottie's uncle. He lives out in the country! The girls loved playing outside with the puppies!
*
They were both fascinated with this "Old Fashioned" type trike! They both wanted to be ringing the bell at the same time.
Happy-Happy Anika having her turn all by herself!
Anika also enjoyed climbing and riding on the back with her big Sister!
*
*
Trying to ring the bell! I love the wispy hairs blowing in the breeze!
*
Puppy Hugs! The bigger dogs were SO GREAT with the kids and let the girls pet them and get close!
*
*
Uncle Arlee and the girls in COLOR!!
*
Now in Sepia!
*
Anika also LOVED The wagon! Being the climber that she in she stood up of course!
*
I love this picture!
*
Sisters having FUN!
*
This little girls LOVES puppies!
*
This was such a fun puppy experience for her because usually all the animals she comes in close contact with do not like to be around children--so she spends the whole time just looking for them as they run and hide from her! (She is hoping Grandpa Wayne that Popo the kitty will be a little more friendly with her!)
*
They actually had 2 miniature chihuahuas (yes the small dog has a miniature version too) but they were not as nice with Anika and snapped at her a few times!
It was a nice visit with more family and fun to meet some new faces!
