Make a postcard - it's easy!

Anika Cougar!

On Saturday Coleman, Roni, and Anika sported BYU clothing in support of the Mountain West Conference Championship game that night! We need to get Makadie some Cougar gear-- These are the first pictures that we have of the newest Cougar in our family! We thought she looked like a true fan already!

To Nap or Not to Nap, that is the question!

Makadie has always been a night person and it has been a fight since day one to get her to bed early. We finally got it from 1:00am to 9:00pm, and that is on a good night. We would love for her to go to bed earlier like normal kids her age but have not had success. We would like her to go to bed earlier so that we can have "big people" time before we hit the sack! We cut the amount of time that she naps down, but it did not seem to make any difference. Last week she did not want to take and nap and we were busy doing stuff, so I let her miss the nap! She went to sleep for the night at 7:30! So when she said no nap the next day I said OK! She fell asleep this night at 6:30 on her own! Since then we have been letting her skip her nap if she wants to. At times during the hours of 5:00-bedtime are quite whinny and annoying--but we know if we are patient and kind with the whinny kid she will go to bed early and we will have the night more to ourselves.

These pictures was taken today, a no nap day. I was making dinner in the kitchen and she just laid down on the rug and fell asleep. It was after 5:00, so it was too late for a nap. I let her sleep for about 20 minutes and tried for about 10 minutes to wake her up!

A Little Taste of Spring

We had errands to run on Saturday and knew that we would be out and about during lunch time --- so we decided to pack a lunch and find a park. The weather was nice, not really warm but nice--long sleeves but nothing more kind of weather. We enjoyed the meal and loved being outside. Makadie would take a bite and then run around dancing, spinning, jumping, singing, and then stop by for another bite when we asked her to. She was having a blast. After we were done eating we taught Makadie how to roll down a hill in the grass. She could not get enough of this--she giggled and giggled and kept going back up the hill for more. Here are a few of the pictures we took from our fun day at the park! It definitely made us antsy for the nicer weather (meaning no more snow)~

Makadie was coloring in the living room. When I went in to check on her I realized that she matched the room.

4 1/2 years


How Long did we date?
13 months before we got married, but we still try to date now!

Coleman--but he actually said, "Man, I kind of like being in love."


Who is taller?
Any guesses?? I am 5 foot 0 and Coleman is 5 foot 18 inches.


Who can sing better?
Coleman can hit the notes better, but I sing from the heart!


Who is Smarter?
We both have areas that we are smarter in! Coleman knows more about politics and geography. Coleman knows directions and never gets lost. Coleman is not that observable to the world around him and can not find anything even when it is right in front of him. So I help him out A LOT in this category. I study more so grades wise--mine were better. But over all I think we are pretty equal!



Who does the laundry?
I do most of the time and prefer it this way. Coleman does not empty pockets and does not know what to not wash or not dry. He helps to fold and put away though.



Who pays the bills?
We share this responsibility. There are a few that I always take care of and a few he takes care of. But we both help each other remember!


Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?
Coleman! I sleep with my back to Coleman which ever side he sleeps on though. He has large lungs and exhales a lot of air and I can't fall asleep when he blows in my face.



Who mows the lawn?
Coleman will be the lawn mower most of the time. This will be our first summer with a lawn. I like mowing the lawn so I might do it sometimes too! Coleman worked on BYU Grounds Crew when we were at BYU, so he is more qualified that me and does an amazing job!



Who cooks dinner?
I do more than Coleman does, but he helps too! I am usually the one who has to come up with the idea of what to make. If I give him an idea he will cook (unless I am sick--then he will come up with something on his own). We both really like to cook though! I would LOVE to have a gourmet kitchen with tons of counter space and good pots and pans! We love to try new recipes.




Who drives?
Coleman! I do not mind driving but I prefer him too! On long trips he does most of the driving because if I drive he will fall asleep. I was in a car accident on the way home from BYU one Thanksgiving. The driver dozed just a second and we spun and hit a reflector stick on the other side of the highway. We were all safe, just shaken up. Since then I can not sleep in the car, so it is safer if we both are awake--to keep the driver awake. Coleman starts punching himself in the stomach and pulling his leg hairs when he gets sleepy. I know when this starts we need to stop and walk around for a while!
