We enjoyed another small town 4th of July this year in Eagar, AZ. We woke up at our campsite and drove into town for the Annual Pancake Breakfast! It actually was the first time either one of us had gone. It is a fundraiser for a local scout troop. I think each year it rotates between the scouts. It was all you can eat pancakes and sausage and yummy orange juice--the cost was by donation. We had a fun time! Makadie did not eat much because she was too busy looking at the "TOYS" she saw--the playground equipment. We ate at a table with a fun older couple from Scottsdale, AZ. They were very impressed with Makadie. The lady said she's worked with gifted children for over 20 years and Makadie is one for sure! I guess you can tell a genius in a matter of minutes!!! She mainly was impressed with Makadie using complete sentences and using the I pronoun instead of me. Coleman always says, "Makadie is the smartest kid in the world" (a typical Daddy comment for sure).
After breakfast Coleman took Makadie to the toys! She had fun swinging and going down the big slide.
ATV's are a big thing in small country towns as many of you know! We had to laugh when we saw this souped up one in the parking lot! I guess it was a family trip to the Pancake Breakfast!

After the pancake breakfast, Coleman dropped me off at the start of the parade and took Makadie to watch it! They sat with the Parks and Bigelows on Main Street in front of the Stake Center.
Makadie and Katie watching the parade~~
Sam was in the parade with the band! We got a few pictures of him!

Here is the Eagar 3rd Ward float! Roni's home ward. The parade theme this year was "Our American Freedoms".
This is our favorite float! It has been in the parade for years! The engineer in Coleman is always impressed with all the kids on the swing.

Coleman had a blast just watching Makadie enjoy the parade. She loved getting candy thrown to her. She did not have to do much to get it, there were enough nice kids around that made sure she had a good stash. Coleman said he's not sure if she ever finished one piece or just kept trying them as she got them!

She also got a beach ball thrown to her!!
Roni was on her 10 year High School reunion float. When they drove by where Makadie was, Makadie got so excited to see her Mommy she started running to the float. So, Roni jumped off--pregnant and all-- to help her back to the side of the road.

Roni really enjoyed seeing all of her old friends and classmates. They all got a bit baked in the sun though. It was a super hot day. They did get doused a few times by family members of her class. It felt great!!
Our little Firecracker~~

Thanks Grum (Shane) and the Bigelows for helping Makadie have such a fun time at the Parade~~~

What a cute little 4th of July dress! You know, we think Trey is pretty darn smart, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't speaking full sentences at 21 months, so perhaps you do have a genius on your hands! I mean, if she's smarter than Trey, she's got to be genius! (haha)
Good to see you on the web again. I hope you are feeling better, Roni.
And I can't believe someone strapped their baby into that ATV and drove on the roads like that. Maybe I worry too much?
