For Anika's birthday this year Coleman went with us to Lookout Mountain Nature Center for Toddler Times! We try to go every month--but this was a special treat to have Daddy with us! Also Anika usually just is in the background because the program is for 2+, so this was her first legal-official Toddler Time on her birthday!
*
She was excited--can't you tell!
*
*Toddler Times was about BATS! The girls had so much fun learning about bats--and so did I! We even learned a song about bats that the girls are still singing today--just ask and they will sing it for you! This is the girls pretending to be in a bat cave!
*
After Toddler Times we set up kitchen in the parking lot and heated up some yummy soup!

While the soup was warming up the girls had fun playing in the snow! All Anika wanted to do was eat it--we kept trying to get her to stop--but hey at least we got a few good pics of her in the process!

Makadie with her "not as impressive" snow treat!
*
Beware of eating snow--it will make your hair stand-up!
*
* And so did Makadie!
Thanks for the Coleman stove Coleman!
After lunch was done we got ready for cupcakes and presents!
Make a wish sweetheart!

*
Wish granted--she got to eat it!
*
* Makadie LOVED her zucchini muffin with sprinkles!
*
*!! Her very own horse from Grandma Sandy and Grandpa Dennis!
Anika fell in love with the Tinker Bell doll from Grandma and Grandpa. Tink was her constant companion for the next week or so! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for such fun gifts!
After Lookout Mountain Nature Center it was off to get yearly check-ups at the Pediatricians office! Since the girls birthdays are a month a part (and October was BUSY!) we scheduled one appointment for the 2 of them! They both got a slew of shots! Makadie cried bloody murder before any shots entered her skin--so she was pretty sore from being so tense during the shots! I had Anika go first, so that she would not be scared if Makadie cried--well Anika just looked at me and said OUCH! just once--no tears during all those shots! It was a mean trick to make Anika get shots on her birthday--but she took them quite well!

We finished the evening off with ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery! The girls both wanted BLUE bubblegum flavored stuff! Coleman and I shared something chocolate!
We sure love this little gal and look forward to the next year of adventures she will bring into our lives!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! What an awesome day...other than the shot part but when bracketed by Lookout Mountain Center and Cold Stone, they fade into the background!
