Karen took us on one of her favorite hikes! The Kalalau Trail-- We only did the first 4 miles of the hike (8 miles round trip). The whole trail needs a permit, backpacking gear, and a few days! Though that sounded fun we opted for the hike up to Hanakapaia Falls!

This is a glimpse of what we will be viewing on the hike. The hike is up the mountain edge overlooking the ocean most of the time. It was pretty amazing to see the ocean during so much during the hike!

There were lots of trees like this one, with the roots above ground. Sometime the roots were just in the air and not touching the ground at all--very unique.
We loved the Bamboo forests along the trail. Here are Julie & Roni in from of some of the Bamboo trees we saw!

Aaron took this of Coleman and Roni from across a small valley. Coleman and Roni were a little a head and he snapped this shot! Kind of fun with us hidden some in the GREEN trees!
On the way back we tried again to take a group Bamboo shot (like I said we liked the Bamboo). Our first attempts were blurry--and so were the second attempts--but oh well!

Julie was brave and used the outhouse!
But hey--quite a spectacular view--from an out house!
