Secret Beach--on the Kalalau Trail --June 9, 2009

We called this beach "Secret Beach" because it is a temporary beach. The sand slowly gets deposited there in the summer and forms a beach. Then a big wave comes and in one swoosh the beach is gone! I do not remember if this sign was at Secret Beach or not--but we were warned!

It was just gorgeous--and a bit Magical! We were not the only ones there--but it had that feeling~

Coleman & Roni There was a little stream where the stream water met the ocean. In the fresh water were these fish egg strands--

We thought they were cool--being the science nerds we are!

So we got one of them! From the front and . . .

We were able to walk/swim/wade in a sea cave! Here is Coleman coming out of it!This is a cool shot of Julie taken while in the sea cave!

Aaron worked hard to get a good shot from inside the sea cave! In this one he even caught a bird in flight right above the rock! Any idea where the rest of are in this picture!?

This is one of the reasons it was so hard to get a good shot! The rest of us had fun jumping out from behind the rock while Aaron was attempting to take pictures! In this one he captured all of us jumping out at the same time!

We thought that this had the potential to make a cool picture~

Once the water splashed over the rock! It did turn out fun--but Aaron is a bit covered by the splash!

And now he is SOAKED! But hey--anything for a good picture RIGHT!!

So we did get an AMAZING shot of the splash and the rock--but WITHOUT Aaron--This one we might even have to frame!

We really enjoyed our stop at Secret Beach! It was 2 miles into the hike and about halfway to Hanakapaia Falls! We wished the rest of the week that we could go back and just let time go by and relax and play at this little spot of Heaven!
