Chistmas in the Rockies 2007

We woke up Christmas morning to a fresh blanket or white snow and more falling from the sky. It snowed almost the entire day! It was magical to have a freshly white Christmas.

Coleman and I were up before Makadie on Christmas morning of course. We were getting really hungry so we finally woke her up at 9:15 so that we could eat.

We are trying to start traditions with our little family. We want to have a traditional family Christmas breakfast. We had biscuits and gravy with fresh berries and yummy OJ. It was a pretty tasty meal so we will try it again next year too!

We wanted Makadie to eat breakfast before seeing her presents so we made her eat first. Since the dinning room connects to the living room --- where the tree and all the presents was --- we ate in the kitchen!


Makadie was really cute opening her presents. It took us the whole morning to get through them all because she would open one and play with it for a while. She got a lot of fun things from family. (But too many to mention them all!) Santa brought her a baby w/ stroller, high chair, and play pen. She loved the camping little people set from Grandma and Grandpa Workman. And she would not take off the fairy princess dress from Grum!

Anika got a lot of fun things as well, but she did not react quite the same as Makadie did!

Once all the presents were opened and things a little picked up we made our Christmas Lunch. Pork Tenderloin, mashed potatoes w/ gravy, rolls, fresh green beans, sweet potatoes, and yummy homemade chocolate pie for dessert. It was a scrumptious meal!! It was our first Holiday meal that we have made on our own since we have been married. It was fun--but a little more work than having a family all work together.

(Notice Makadie's hand in the picture--eating the "after" dinner mint "before" dinner--she is such a candy freak! When asked what she wanted for Christmas or from Santa, she would say "Just Candy"


After lunch we went out and played in the snow!

















Makadie was such a big help with shoveling the snow with Daddy! Our driveway is huge and can hold a ton of snow.
