Easter 2009

The Saturday before Easter, so Easter Saturday, the girls woke up to find the Easter Baskets that the Easter Bunny had left for them! Since Easter Baskets are kind of a stretch to the real meaning of Easter, but they are so much fun, we like to have the Easter Bunny bring them on Saturday so that Sunday can be focused more on the Savior!

Here is Makadie on the hunt for her hidden basket! She found part of it in the corner by the lamp!
Anika and Makadie got a golf set!
They also both got a carrot baseball bat with balls! Such fun toys to play with in the backyard! (Yes--in this picture Anika is discovering that there is candy inside some of the eggs in her basket!)
This is what happens once the discovery is made and Mommy and Daddy are helping Makadie set up her golf set! Mommy, "Anika do you have any candy?" "hummmmm" grunts Anika as she closes her lips the best she can and does her I am so happy because I have candy dance! It is quite a cute dance!
Still working on that mouth full of candy!
We had a wonderful Easter Dinner! Ham, salad, rolls, asparagus, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, and cobbler!
We had a picture of Uncle Chase and Jesus on the table to help us remember the importance and blessing of Resurrection and the celebration of Easter!
For desert we had a mixed berry cobbler--not using a cake mix-- We had some blackberries in the fridge that needed to be used, so voila!
It was pretty tasty--It would have been excellent with some vanilla ice cream though!
We had a lovely Sunday remembering our Savior and our loved ones who have gone on. It was a nice way for us to share our testimonies about Resurrection with Makadie. It was a special day!
