Kauai Continued--Day 4--June 7th 2009

We had a wonderful Hawaiian Sunday morning at Karen & Brady's ward~ They are VERY used to visitors. The ward members gave each visitor a yarn lei (notice in the pictures) and after Sacrament meeting all visitors were asked to stand while all the ward members came to the front of the chapel and sang a special song in Hawaiian. It was pretty neat!

Coleman & Roni with their yarn leis and the beautiful ones from the Edwards.

Aaron & Julie in their Sunday best!
We then changed out of our Sunday clothes and took a lovely drive up into the mountains of Kauai!
*
We told you these little guys are EVERYWHERE--even in the mountains!
*
A waterfall we saw on our drive!
*
This is the Wailua River--which we will be kayaking on on Monday!
*
Julie & Roni -- the boys thought they looked good ON the river--just wait until Monday!
*
Here is the fun rental car we had for the week! It was a bit chilly on our drive, so we kept the top on!
*
This is another waterfall we stopped to see!
We drove up a jungle trail and got out to explore!
*
The picture does not show you all the details of the vines hanging--but it was very COOL and very JUNGLEY! *
Julie with a BIG jungle leaf!
*
Coleman & Roni in the Jungle! (OK I know that I look very short in this shot---)
*
Julie & Aaron posing in the jungle!
*
This is our "Hot Mamas" Pose!
*
Another cool look up at the vines!
*
We also waded in some water in the jungle! We just thought this was a fun shot of Coleman and Roni's feet!
*
We also stopped at a Monastery. They do tours but we had missed them for the day, so we just toured the gardens. It was quite interesting and very peaceful. We saw a few monks doing their daily chores in the gardens and also some doing construction!
It was a wonderful and very relaxing day!

Our Sundays are not usually "days of rest", but this one sure was!
