Easter Egg Hunt during Derby time

We hid ("set out" more like it) plastic Easter Eggs filled with stickers and Teddy Grahams in our backyard. The kids took off finding the eggs and piling them into their baskets!

Isaac kept picking them up and shaking them to see if there was anything inside. If there was he would place it in his basket. If he could hear nothing inside he dropped it and moved on to the next one. Each egg had something in it, but the stickers did not make a sound when you shook it! So Issac found all the Teddy Graham eggs and since there were quite a few more sticker eggs that teddy eggs--Makadie's basket was a lot more full, but Isaac was tastier!

Makadie was so excited getting all the eggs in sight that she did something pretty funny! She had the Easter Basket hanging on her arm, she'd reaching down to pick up an egg--shrieking and giggling with excitement--and place the egg in her basket--or so she thought. She just stuck her arm through the basket handle and dropped the egg onto the ground again. She ran around in the same spot for quite some time picking up the same 3 eggs over and over and over again! It was hilarious because each time she picked up the same egg she would get even more excited thinking that she was getting tons of eggs. We were bummed that we did not capture it on video--it definitely would have been in the running on America's Funniest Home Videos!

The "little guys" did not get as many eggs as the "big kids" but they still had fun being in the back yard! Caden liked the balls better than the eggs and Lincoln liked sticks that he found in the grass better--but as long as they were having fun!

We tried to get a picture of all the kids at the Easter Egg hunt--it was quite the adventure. Makadie was protective of Caden and kept trying to take the eggs from Lincoln that he got out of Caden's basket. So between Makadie looking out for her buddy and trying to get everyone to look at the camera at the same time we finally got one where we could see all of their faces!
