It was a really cool tour. Lots to see. It was interesting the way they placed everything and used every space to maximize efficiency. It makes you really admire the men who had to live day after day on these things.
These following two pictures are of the dark room and photo center. Elia we took these pictures for you!

I had to take some pictures of the Microbiology/Bacteriology lab. It was neat to see some of the old equipment that was used. Some of the stuff I have used was just as old, but I am also thankful that improvements have been made on quite a few of the things too! This first picture is an Autoclave used to sterilize. It works by steam/pressure--it gets REALLY hot inside under high pressure and nothing can live through it--so it kills all the bugs and germs.
Here is a shot of the lab counter space that they had. Not much! It seems our tight quarters at CRA might not have been so tight after all!
Makadie's favorite part was grabbing the bars! She loved holding on tight and kicking her legs!
Here I am am with my Grandma Dottie. She was a wonderful host and tour guide for our trip. This picture is deceiving--I am wearing chunk heel sandals and she is hunching a little. She is actually still a little taller than me! We thought the bombs made a nice background for a picture.
When we first started the tour Makadie was sleeping against Coleman's chest. They are sitting at one of the cafeteria benches. They had to eat in shifts--there was not tons of space to eat.
Coleman and Makadie with part of the engine room in the background!
There were hundreds of these bunks hanging from the ceiling at every open space there was. They really packed a a lot in a small space. These little bunks were all the space you really had to yourself. You better like your bunk mates!
