Our Trip to the Zoo--well kind of!

So we got a pass to the Denver Zoo this year and have looked forward to using it! We have gone a few times but the month of June was SO CRAZY BUSY that we decided it was time to go again! Our pass is good for me and one guest (and kids 2 and under are free). So I usually make Tammy and Caden come with us.

We decided to go Monday July 7th. Got lunches made, kids dressed, bags packed, strollers loaded---and then came the rain. Since we were already loaded up we decided to head towards the Zoo. The rain did not stop so we went to the Cherry Creek Mall play area. There is a bunch of giant breakfast foods to play on. Very random but the kids had a great time.

Can you imagine sliding down bacon! Caden sure loved it!!
What about taking a rest on an egg yolk? Who knew that could be so relaxing!
What about dancing on eggs? Notice the sausage links in the background! They were a hit too!
And nothing could be more fun than playing in a bowl of shredded wheat with blue berries and milk!
The play area was for kids 48 inches and under. Which covers a large range of kiddos. Since our kids were on the little side we felt that no-running should be a rule. There were some pretty big kids running around and knocking kids over (on accident). One boy even smacked into Makadie as she was smiling and coming to tell me about the large banana. She literally bounced on the floor! Luckily the floor was very soft and bouncy. Of course she was fine--but it made us a little more nervous with all the runners!

I thought that this was a fun action shot of our kids as well as the others there. Gives you an idea of the fast pace!
